Sick of being sick

For all of you who don't know...I've ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis twice in the past three months. Both times I was in the same Northern Virginia hospital, and still, they haven't been able to figure out what's going on. I've had more scans and images and tests done on my body and while they've determined that it's not life-threatening, they still are stumped. I'm a medical mystery...

Anyway, I was in the hospital most recently last week and had a lot of time to reflect, think and space out on lots of heavy-duty pain medicine. As a result, I feel like I've been much calmer this week and able to focus on the important bigger picture items. Like our wedding. Which is six months away. It sounds like a "short" time in wedding planning....but I'm ready now. Now.

I also am starting to formulate some writing ideas. I'm percolating. Like coffee. Or a nice slow cooker stew. More like the stew, because honestly, that takes longer. And I'm a bit of a procrastinator. Make that a major procrastinator. That's why there's an overflowing basket of laundry and the dry cleaning that I put in a pile two weeks ago is still in the same place.

This long weekend, I think I will be all about the projects. I'm finally going to plant my tomatoes and I'm finally going to finish painting the fence. And maybe, if I'm feeling frisky, we'll decide on a paint color for a living room.
